YOUR PT-141 PEPTIDE ROUTINE
Simple instructions from INTRA|V for using your prescribed PT-141 (Bremelanotide)—including your dose, timing and what to expect.
Thank you for choosing INTRA|V! Here’s a simple guide to fitting your prescribed peptides into your routine.
How Much Should I Inject?
Our usual prescribed total dose is 2 mg, injected subcutaneously (SubQ). If we have prescribed a different individual dose, use that amount.
For your first use, start with a 1 mg test dose. If your prescription specifically includes our split-dose protocol and you feel well, take the remaining 1 mg approximately 30 minutes later, for a total of 2 mg. Otherwise, do not take a second injection.
Do not take additional medication because you have not yet noticed an effect, and do not increase your dose yourself.
When Should I Inject?
Inject PT-141 approximately 1–2 hours before anticipated sexual activity. Use it as needed; you do not need a fixed morning or evening injection time.
Response varies. Some people notice an effect sooner, while others take longer. PT-141 works through pathways involved in sexual desire and does not guarantee an immediate physical response.
How Often Can I Use PT-141?
Do not exceed 2 mg total within any 72-hour period. Leave at least 72 hours between treatment occasions, and do not use more than eight treatment occasions in a month.
PT-141 is not a daily injection and does not follow a five-days-on, two-days-off schedule. Taking it more often increases the risk of side effects.
How Do I Measure My Dose?
Use the syringe units written on your prescription label. The number of units depends on the concentration in your vial. Milligrams (mg) and syringe units are different measurements; there is no single unit amount that applies to every PT-141 prescription.
Use the syringe graphic for help reading the markings. If your label does not clearly state the units for your 1 mg test dose or prescribed total dose, contact us before injecting.
Where and How Should I Inject?
Give your injection just beneath the skin (SubQ), in the abdomen or front of the thigh. Rotate sites and avoid bruised, irritated or damaged skin.
Wash your hands, clean the vial stopper and injection site, and use a new sterile needle and syringe each time. Dispose of used supplies in a sharps container. Use the SubQ Injection Guide alongside the technique demonstrated by our team.
Do I Need an Empty Stomach?
No fasting is required. PT-141 can be taken with or without food. You do not need to leave a set gap between your injection and a meal. Nausea can still occur.
What Side Effects Should I Watch For?
Possible side effects include nausea, vomiting, flushing, headache, dizziness and injection-site irritation. PT-141 can temporarily raise blood pressure and lower heart rate. Darkening of the skin or gums can occur and may persist.
Contact INTRA|V if nausea is severe or persistent, you notice pigment changes, or injection-site redness, swelling or discomfort worsens or spreads. Do not take another injection while having concerning symptoms.
Seek emergency care for chest pain, a severe headache, fainting or a prolonged painful erection lasting four hours or more. Call 911 for difficulty breathing, swelling of the lips, tongue or throat, or other signs of a serious allergic reaction.
Important Safety Information
Do not use PT-141 if you have uncontrolled high blood pressure or known cardiovascular disease. Tell us about kidney or liver problems and all medicines and supplements you take. PT-141 can affect absorption of oral medicines; avoid combining it with oral naltrexone used for alcohol or opioid dependence.
Do not use during pregnancy. If you could become pregnant, use effective contraception; stop treatment and contact us if pregnancy is suspected. Contact us before use if you are breastfeeding.
Compounded PT-141 is not FDA-approved. Vyleesi is approved for certain premenopausal women with acquired, generalized low sexual desire causing distress (HSDD). Use in men and other uses are off-label. Results vary.
When Will My Medication Arrive?
Allow approximately 5–10 business days for processing and delivery after your prescription is ordered. Your medication is shipped directly to your supplied address, with cold packaging, from our licensed 503A compounding pharmacy in the Houston area.
How Should I Store My PT-141?
Place your compounded PT-141 in the refrigerator when it arrives. Do not freeze. Keep it out of children’s reach and use it only until the expiry or beyond-use date printed on your label.
Do not inject medication that is cloudy, discolored or contains visible particles. If your shipment arrives warm, damaged or in questionable condition, contact the dispensing pharmacy before using it. Keep the pharmacy’s storage instructions with your medication.
